Liz Durrett - Cup On The Counter 
vergleiche braucht sie nicht zu scheuen: liz durrett ähnelt nicht nur äußerlich manch bekannter musikerin: chan marshall, joan wasser fallen einem da schon ein. "the mezzanine" heißt ihr letztes album, es erschien im januar 06 bei warm records. das werk zuvor hört auf den namen "cup on the counter" und das werk davor auf "husk".
"the mezzanine" wurde übrigens von vic chesnutt produziert.
harp schrieb im juni 06 u.a.: "Durrett has created an album for the nighttime. The graceful, lullabylike quality of “Marlene” and the peaceful, atmospheric “Little Ascendant” could cajole crying babies to deep slumber while the grating chord phrasings on “Knives at the Wall” and the unsettling guitar loops in “Spokes” provoke like nightmares. Durrett straddles the fence between safe and hazardous with penetrating results."
